Made mainly from young Gamay vines in Morgon, it is a light, approachable little Morgon fermented and matured in stainless steel. Maurice Siné's distinctive, darkly humorous label matches its fresh, direct fruit character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vines average 20 years and grow on granite without chemical fertilisers or herbicides. Semi-carbonic maceration uses neither cultured yeast nor sulphites, followed by around two months in tank and unfiltered bottling. Higher yields from young vines give juicy, playful fruit and lower alcohol than the other cuvées. Serve well chilled for relaxed enjoyment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNose: Candy-like notes reminiscent of Beaujolais Nouveau, with strawberry, raspberry and wild berries.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePalate: Fresh cherry and white strawberry with clean acidity, developing elegant raspberry. Light and straightforward but savoury and flavourful.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMarcel Lapierre helped establish French natural wine and influenced producers throughout Beaujolais and beyond. After his death in autumn 2010, his son Mathieu took responsibility for the family's Morgon-rooted winemaking. Organic cultivation has been practised since 1981, without chemical fertilisers, herbicides or insecticides, and grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Indigenous yeasts drive semi-carbonic maceration. Wines other than Raisins Gaulois mature on their lees in old barrels.
