High Coast Doubles Cognac Casks is a Swedish single malt from High Coast Distillery, finished in ex-cognac casks and bottled at 48% ABV in a compact 500ml bottle. This double cask expression blends classic malt richness with fine cognac fruit influence, delivering ripe dried grape, bright stone fruit, creamy vanilla and soft polished oak spice. The nose unfolds with sweet raisin compote, floral Nordic malt and gentle toasted cognac oak. The palate balances vibrant fruited brightness with thick honeyed grain, subtle citrus zest, mild nutty almond and defined dry tannins. Its lengthy warming finish holds persistent dried fruit toffee and faint earthy herbal undertones. Best savoured neat with a tiny splash of spring water to unlock its layered, elegant cognac-finished Nordic malt character without harsh alcoholic sharpness.
