Since we ship alcoholic beverages, all sales are generally final. We don't accept returns or exchanges just for a change of mind.
But if things go wrong—like your bottle breaks in transit or we accidentally send you the wrong one—we've absolutely got your back! Here is how we handle it:
The 7-Day Window
If your item is damaged or incorrect, please reach out to us within 7 days of signing for your package. After 7 days, we unfortunately won't be able to process a return or exchange.
Item Condition
If we sent you the wrong item by mistake, please make sure it stays unopened and in its original condition. (If your item arrived broken, just safely take some clear photos for us instead!)
How to Start a Return
If you need to return a damaged or wrong item, just follow these quick steps:
Drop us a line first: Contact our customer service at contact@bottleofjapan.com or give us a call to get a Return Number.
Pack it up: Pop a copy of your sales invoice in the box, along with a quick note letting us know what went wrong (and what you'd like to exchange it for, if applicable).
Label it: Attach your return shipping label to the package, and make sure to cover up any old addresses or barcodes.

Shipping Costs & Safety
If it's our fault (broken or wrong item): We will cover the return shipping costs. Just ask us for instructions!
Shipping it back: We highly recommend insuring your return package and using a trackable service. We can't be responsible if your courier loses or breaks the package on its way back to us.
No Restocking Fees
We don't charge any hidden restocking fees for returning damaged or incorrect items.
Refunds
Once your return gets back to us and we take a look, we'll shoot you an email to let you know we've got it. Your refund will then be automatically credited back to your original payment method within a few business days.
