Darkness Balmenach 16 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky independently bottled by Master of Malt under the Darkness series. It is bottled at cask strength 61.1% ABV with a volume of 500ml. Distilled at Balmenach Distillery, this expression features the signature heavily charred cask maturation of the Darkness range. On the nose you will find stewed dark berries, honeyed dried fruits, dark toffee and rich toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, delivering raisin, cinnamon spice, dark chocolate and baked plum, intertwined with charred wood notes. The long finish lingers with dark fruit sweetness and persistent warm oak spice; a few drops of water can soften the intensity and bring forward additional layers of dried fruit and malt character.
