Marolo Apres 5 Years Old is an oak-aged Italian grappa from Piedmont distiller Marolo, bottled at 42% ABV in a standard 700ml format, matured five full years in fine oak casks. Extended barrel ageing lends rich dried stone fruit, baked vanilla, warm caramel, soft nutty almond and integrated polished oak spice alongside subtle underlying grape florals. The nose unfolds with preserved orchard fruit compote, creamy custard vanilla and gentle toasted barrel sweetness. The palate balances velvety fruit sweetness with smooth wood depth, faint citrus zest and well-mellowed rounded tannins. Its medium warm finish holds lingering caramelised fruit and quiet woody herbal undertones. More complex than unaged grappa, it shines neat at room temperature as a refined post-meal digestif, showcasing balanced fruit and oak without harsh alcoholic sharpness.
