Royal Lochnagar 16 Years Old Special Release 2021 is an official distillery-bottled Highland single malt whisky, bottled at cask strength of 57.5% ABV with a volume of 700ml. The aroma unfolds with rich dried dark fruits, ripe plum and candied orange zest intertwined with polished oak spices, subtle honeyed cereal sweetness and delicate floral Highland undertones. On the palate, the robust full-bodied texture is well-supported by its high natural cask strength, presenting concentrated dried berry sweetness, warm cinnamon and clove spice, layered with creamy vanilla oak and deep mature malt depth with nicely integrated tannins without harsh burn. It delivers a lengthy satisfying finish with lingering dried fruit sweetness, gentle wood spice and faint nutty warm echoes. It is a limited annual special release expression best enjoyed neat or with a small splash of water to unlock its full layered complexity.
