Distilled in 2012 and matured for eleven years, this bottling embodies Craigellachie’s signature bold profile, featuring rich stewed stone fruits, subtle savoury sulphury undertones, warm baking spice and creamy cereal malt. The nose unfolds with sun-dried apricot, baked plum, faint smoked meat, cinnamon stick and silky vanilla oak. On the palate, thick jammy fruit sweetness combines with steady medium alcohol warmth, balanced by soft sherry oak tannins and delicate mineral savouriness. Its medium-long finish lingers on preserved dark fruit, nutty shortbread and gentle spicy wood notes; this collectible independent bottling works well neat, with tiny splashes of mineral water optional to soften its robust fruity-savoury layers.
