On the palate, restrained smoky mineral notes blend with rich jammy dried fruit, thick oily malt and powerful high-proof warmth, supported by refined long-term oak tannins. Its extremely lengthy finish lingers on gentle ash smoke, preserved stone fruit and nutty wood spice; this small-format collectible bottling is best enjoyed neat, with only a tiny drop of mineral water if desired to soften its intense cask strength.
