Old & Rare Caol Ila 32 Years Old 1991 is an ultra-vintage collectible Islay single malt from Hunter Laing’s prestigious Old & Rare independent bottling series, distilled in 1991 and matured for 32 years, bottled at a gentle 41% ABV in a standard 700ml format. Decades of slow coastal oak maturation soften Caol Ila’s signature peaty smoke into a refined, balanced profile layered with maritime fruit and mellow wood. The nose delivers subtle smoldering seaweed peat, bright citrus zest, saline coastal brine, dried green apple and polished vintage oak aromas. On the palate, restrained smoky minerality harmonises with ripe orchard fruit sweetness, silky aged malt and mild, well-rounded alcohol warmth wrapped in ultra-tamed mature oak tannins. The finish lingers elegantly with faint ash smoke, lingering lemon and soft caramelised wood undertones.
