Octomore 15.2 European Cask is a cask-strength distillery-bottled heavily peated Islay single malt at 57.9% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle, finished in seasoned European oak wine casks as the second release of the 15th Octomore series. Its aroma bursts with intense medicinal peat smoke, briny coastal tar, smouldering heather, ripe red berry compote, tart grape tannins and subtle dark chocolate balancing ferocious phenolic smoke with bright wine fruit notes. The palate delivers searing peaty saline upfront, vibrant jammy red fruit, viscous thick malt, sharp layered European oak tannins and soft liquorice to temper the powerful smoky core. It features an enduring smoky finish of lingering ashen peat, preserved red stone fruit and deep tart wine oak sweetness. This limited high-proof peated expression works neat or lightly watered to unlock wine-driven fruit layers, sought by peat collectors for its unique tart European cask fruit character paired with Octomore’s signature uncompromising heavy Islay smoke.
