Arran 11 Years Old 2012 Barrel Bonfire is an Islands single malt, official distillery bottling from Arran Distillery, bottled at 50% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Distilled in 2012 and matured for 11 full years in ex-bourbon barrels under the Barrel Bonfire limited release series, it balances soft smouldering peat smoke, ripe orchard fruit, creamy vanilla bourbon malt and warm toasted oak without harsh medicinal ash. Its aroma opens with gentle bonfire smoke, baked green apple, coconut vanilla and light caramel. On the palate, bright fruity sweetness meets robust 50% cask strength warmth, layered with delicate peat, cereal sweetness and soft barrel tannins. The lingering finish carries mild smoke, fresh stone fruit and lingering vanilla oak. Best enjoyed neat at cool temperature; a tiny splash of mineral water softens its vibrant smoky-fruited profile for smoother sipping.
