Armagnac de Montal has been made by the family in Roquelaure since 1865. It matures in 400-litre white-oak casks from Monlezun in the Pyrenees or Le Freche, developing distinctive wood aromas and fruit notes such as banana, guava, cherry and pear that vary by vintage.
Its 1,000 hectares of vineyards lie in Bas-Armagnac, between the Landes forest and Atlantic, on mainly sandy soils with patches of clay. Moderate humidity and mild autumns suit viticulture. Grapes are harvested at night below 15°C, transported in stainless steel to limit oxidation, pneumatically pressed and slowly fermented at low temperature with natural yeast and no added SO2. The wine remains on fine lees in stainless steel until distillation.
The producer distils between November and Christmas, ahead of the stated 31 January deadline, using three copper continuous stills tailored to grape varieties. The resulting rich spirit at 52-72% ABV is suited to long ageing.
The de Montal family traces its roots to the 12th century and holds extensive vintage stocks, including releases from the 1880s. Its historic Le Rietourt ageing building is recognised as French architectural heritage.

Return & Refund
Since we ship alcoholic beverages, all sales are generally final. We don't accept returns or exchanges just for a change of mind.But if things go wrong—like your bottle breaks in transit or we accidentally send you the wrong one—we've absolutely got your back! Here is how we handle it:
The 7-Day Window
If your item is damaged or incorrect, please reach out to us within 7 days of signing for your package. After 7 days, we unfortunately won't be able to process a return or exchange.
Item Condition
If we sent you the wrong item by mistake, please make sure it stays unopened and in its original condition. (If your item arrived broken, just safely take some clear photos for us instead!)
Refused or Undeliverable Packages
Any packages that are refused by the customer upon delivery, or returned to sender due to an incorrect/incomplete address provided by the customer, are subject to a return shipping and restocking fee. This fee will be deducted from your refund.
In addition, original shipping costs are strictly non-refundable for refused packages. If a package is abandoned or destroyed by the carrier due to a customer's refusal to pay local customs duties, no refund will be issued.
