At the end of 2020, during the pandemic, the producer shared a photograph of cask #23 resting in Laos. Maturation had begun in October 2019, and the spirit was beginning to acquire oak aromas. In June 2025, a visit reunited the team with the now five-year-old cask. After careful trials with distillation manager Inoue, they chose to reduce it to 49%, revealing a soft opening, clear sugar-cane flavour and a spicy development.
Inoue described the red Barbados lilies growing in his garden in Laos. Their name, linked to a country associated with rum's origins, felt like reassurance about the path they had chosen. A further chapter begins in Laos in 2026.

LAODI began with Inoue's move from Fukuyama, Hiroshima, to Laos to make rum of international quality. Once your order is processed and shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number, which allows you to monitor the status of your shipment in real time. Return & Refund
Since we ship alcoholic beverages, all sales are generally final. We don't accept returns or exchanges just for a change of mind.But if things go wrong—like your bottle breaks in transit or we accidentally send you the wrong one—we've absolutely got your back! Here is how we handle it:
The 7-Day Window
If your item is damaged or incorrect, please reach out to us within 7 days of signing for your package. After 7 days, we unfortunately won't be able to process a return or exchange.
Item Condition
If we sent you the wrong item by mistake, please make sure it stays unopened and in its original condition. (If your item arrived broken, just safely take some clear photos for us instead!)
Refused or Undeliverable Packages
Any packages that are refused by the customer upon delivery, or returned to sender due to an incorrect/incomplete address provided by the customer, are subject to a return shipping and restocking fee. This fee will be deducted from your refund.
In addition, original shipping costs are strictly non-refundable for refused packages. If a package is abandoned or destroyed by the carrier due to a customer's refusal to pay local customs duties, no refund will be issued.
