A.D. Rattray Ardmore 9 Year Old 2013 is an independent Highland peated single malt bottled by A.D. Rattray at robust 56.2% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Nine years of oak maturation balances earthy peat smoke, sweet orchard fruit, honey and warm baking spice with bold cask strength. Its nose delivers smouldering peat, ripe apple, golden honey, dried apricot and soft vanilla oak. The palate holds rounded malt sweetness, powerful medium-high spirit warmth, layered bright fruit and subtle smoky tannins. It finishes long and earthy with lingering smoky fruit and gentle nutty oak. A small splash of water softens the high alcohol, unlocking more delicate fruity layers for peated whisky lovers.
