Craftsmanship and the 2021 edition
Released in Japan on 25 May 2021, this edition introduced sakura-cask-finished whisky to the Hibiki blend for the first time. Suntory blended these specially finished components with Hibiki's core whiskies. The distinction lies in the use of selected cherry-wood-finished components, not in maturing the entire blend exclusively in sakura casks.
Blossom Harmony 2021 is a specific limited release, rather than the standard Japanese Harmony expression. The year identifies the edition, not a 21-year age statement. Suntory's original presentation paired seasonal floral designs and red accents with motifs inspired by Japanese ceremonial dining.
