The Epicurean Calvados Finish is a Lowland blended Scotch independently bottled by Douglas Laing at 48% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. This curated finish expression marries classic soft Lowland malt delicacy with bright apple-driven Calvados cask influence, balancing gentle cereal sweetness with vibrant fresh orchard fruit layers. The nose unfolds with light grassy malted barley, crisp green apple, ripe pear, subtle honey and faint polished oak tannins from the French apple brandy casks. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegantly balanced, delivering mild grassy malt core, juicy stewed apple compote, soft creamy toffee and restrained delicate wood spice that amplifies the fruity finish character without overpowering the Lowland malt base. Its smooth, fruit-forward lingering finish carries fresh apple and mellow malt sweetness, highlighting the refined, approachable fruity profile of this finished Lowland bottling.
