French Distillation, Vietnamese Inspiration
The brand combines extended botanical maceration with copper-pot distillation and gradual dilution. Japan Import System locates production in France's Cognac region and identifies Vietnamese coriander, ginger, jasmine tea, lemongrass, lychee and lime alongside juniper.
The name and the number 1888 refer to the brand's historical inspiration: Charles Marie de Mayrena and the Kingdom of Sedang. They are not an age statement for the gin. Browse our spirits collection for other origins and styles.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Royal Sedang Gin made in Vietnam?
No. It is distilled and bottled in France. Viet Nam Edition refers to its Vietnamese botanical inspiration, not its country of manufacture.
What size and strength is this bottle?
This listing is for 500ml at 42.2% ABV, matching the photographed labels. A presentation box is not included.
Which botanicals are used?
The Japanese importer lists coriander, ginger, jasmine tea, lemongrass, lychee, lime and juniper berries. The six illustrated botanicals on the rear label emphasize the Vietnamese character.
How should I serve it?
The brand features a Royal Sedang gin and tonic. Try it with tonic over ice; lemongrass is a garnish suggestion highlighted by the Japanese importer.
What does 1888 on the label mean?
It refers to the Sedang story that inspired the brand. It does not indicate that this bottle was distilled in 1888 or carry a stated maturation age.
