Smokehead Rum Cask Rebel is a rum-finished peated Islay blended malt produced by Ian MacLeod, bottled at 46% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle, matured in ex-rum barrels to fuse briny peat with bright tropical fruit sweetness. Its aroma unfolds with smouldering coastal peat, ripe mango, caramelised sugarcane, soft vanilla oak and faint dried banana, balancing bold Islay smoke with rich tropical rum cask influence. The palate delivers saline smoky malt upfront, paired with juicy tropical fruit and gently integrated sweet rum tannins to round out peat’s sharpness. It carries a medium-long warm finish of lingering ash, molasses and stone fruit hints, perfect for peat fans seeking vibrant fruity-smoky contrast when sipped neat.
