Distilled in 2008 and matured for fourteen years, this release delivers Port Charlotte’s signature thick medicinal peat smoke balanced with ripe dark fruit and polished oak depth. Its nose opens with smoldering bandage peat, burnt seaweed brine, dark dried plum, ripe black cherry, vanilla custard and subtle roasted almond. The palate carries layered fruity malt sweetness, powerful high-proof spirit warmth, integrated medicinal smoke, preserved stone fruit and gentle toasted oak tannin undertones. It finishes medium-long and mineral-driven with lingering coastal peat, dark berry jam and faint saline wood spice. This limited independent bottling works beautifully neat or with a small splash of water, ideal for enthusiasts seeking rich heavily peated Islay single malt.
