Murray McDavid Malts of Islay 34 Years Old 1989 is an ultra-aged rare Islay single malt bottled by Murray McDavid at mild 41.1% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Matured thirty-four years since 1989, it carries soft faded peat, gentle coastal brine, dried apricot, mellow vanilla and faint aged oak spice. The nose offers subdued medicinal smoke, light sea salt and slow-caramelised malt. The palate balances subtle smoky salinity with honeyed dried fruit, soft citrus and minimal light tannins. Its long calm finish holds gentle mineral sweetness and faint dried herbal notes. This scarce long-aged expression works best neat to savour its delicate, well-rounded mature Islay malt layers without harsh alcohol heat.
