Distilled at Caol Ila Distillery on Islay Island in 2009 and matured for 11 years before being selected and bottled separately by the independent bottler Whisky Agency under its Artwork series. The nose carries classic robust Islay peat smoke intertwined with briny sea salt, charred seaweed, ripe citrus zest and subtle dark fruit sweetness, layered with gentle oak toast. On the palate, powerful medicinal peat smoke takes the lead, matched with prominent coastal salinity, lemon tart, dark berry jam and mild wood spice, the high cask strength delivers a full-bodied, dense mouthfeel without rough harshness. The lengthy finish lingers on smoky brine, lingering citrus sourness and faint dried fruit warmth, showcasing the typical coastal smoky character of mature Caol Ila single malt.
