- Nose: No separate aroma profile is specified in these sources; their overall flavour notes centre on honey and subtle vanilla.
- Palate: Layered honey and vanilla with mature oak; the photographed packaging describes a creamy, mellow character.
- Finish: Smooth, with a long, warming finish described on the packaging.
The Story Behind XR 21
XR 21 was created to commemorate Sir Alexander Walker's knighthood. Its recipe draws inspiration from his handwritten blending notes. The photographed packaging describes a three-stage blending process, starting with a core blend, developing its character, then adding further single malt layers.
