The Whisky Blues Bowmore 26 Years Old 1997 is a rare long-aged Islay single malt independently bottled by Whisky Age at balanced 50.1% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Distilled in 1997 and matured twenty-six years in mixed ex-bourbon and sherry oak casks, it delivers soft layered coastal peat, ripe dark dried fruit, honeyed malt, subtle sea salt and polished mature oak spice. Its aroma unfolds with gentle smouldering peat smoke, preserved dark berry compote, golden aged honey and saline maritime undertones. The palate balances sweet malt warmth with even alcohol strength, rounded by velvety well-mellowed oak tannins and faint iodine seaweed notes characteristic of Bowmore. The lengthy layered finish lingers on mild smoky fruit sweetness, dark caramel and slow-fading coastal mineral spice. A small splash of water softens its presence, unlocking complex multi-decade Islay malt depth for meditative, thoughtful slow sipping.
