Infrequent Flyers Dumbarton 26 Years Old 1997 is an ultra-aged rare grain whisky independently bottled by Alistair Walker Whisky Company, released at cask strength 53.8% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Distilled in 1997 at the now-closed Dumbarton grain distillery in Scotland and matured for 26 long years, it delivers luxuriously smooth aged grain sweetness softened by decades of slow oak interaction. The nose unfolds with rich butterscotch, ripe banana, golden dried sultana, vanilla cream, light toffee and subtle polished aged oak spice. On the palate, viscous honeyed grain sweetness harmonises with silky rounded spirit and robust elevated alcohol warmth, balanced by gentle, well-mellowed oak tannins from quarter-century maturation. Its extraordinarily lengthy finish lingers on creamy caramel, preserved tropical fruit and faint nutty wood notes; this scarce closed-distillery collectible bottling is best savoured neat, with only a tiny drop of mineral water if desired to soften its powerful cask strength.
