Old Malt Cask Blair Athol 26 Years Old 1997 is an ultra-aged limited 25th anniversary Highland single malt bottled by independent firm Hunter Laing, distilled in 1997 and matured for 26 years at 50% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Decades of gentle oak ageing round out Blair Athol’s core fruity malt into an elegant, well-integrated profile. The nose presents concentrated dried stone fruits, wild heather honey, soft herbal notes and mellow vanilla oak. On the palate, rich jammy fruit sweetness meets silky smooth aged malt and balanced medium alcohol heat, framed by refined, polished oak tannins. The finish unfolds slowly with dried apricot, subtle warm spice and faint caramel wood tones. This rare commemorative bottling is best enjoyed neat to savour its profound, sophisticated long-aged Highland malt complexity.
