The Two Casks Behind DoubleWood
DoubleWood was introduced in 1993 using the cask-finishing approach developed by David C. Stewart in 1983. The whisky moves from American oak bourbon barrels and hogsheads into Spanish oak Oloroso sherry casks. The Japanese brand page describes a final marrying stage in large oak vessels to bring the individual casks together.
