Boulard VSOP Rye Cask Finish is a distinctive French Calvados bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle, crafted by Boulard. This experimental release takes mature VSOP Calvados and finishes the spirit inside ex-rye whiskey casks, blending Normandy apple fruit with the savoury, spicy character of rye oak. The nose opens with ripe baked apple, dried orchard fruit, subtle clove spice, dark bread and gentle vanilla oak brightness. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with flavours of preserved apple, light caramel sweetness, distinctive dry rye spice undertones and a faint warm wood depth. The long, clean lingering finish balances classic calvados fruitiness with the unique peppery savouriness inherited from rye cask maturation.
