- Finish: Smoke recedes, leaving vanilla and wood spice.
A Label Inspired by Welsh Whisky History
Released on 1 March 2019, Royal Welsh honours the historic Welsh Whisky distillery at Frongoch, near Bala. The label recreates an earlier Royal Welsh Whisky design. Its references to Queen Victoria and the 1895 royal warrant belong to that historical company; they are not a current royal endorsement of Penderyn.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Royal Welsh a smoky whisky?
Yes. Penderyn describes this release as a peated Portwood finish, and its tasting notes highlight smoke alongside sweetness.
What does Icons of Wales No. 6 mean?
It identifies Royal Welsh as the sixth expression in the series, rather than an age statement.
What size and strength is this bottle?
This listing is for 700ml at 43% ABV.
Is this an antique bottle from the nineteenth century?
No. It is a modern Penderyn release with a reproduction historical label. The printed dates and old company references explain the design's inspiration, not this bottle's age.
