Astamoris Asta Ira 2008/2021 is a rich Islay single malt independently bottled by Asta Morris at robust cask strength 52% ABV with a 700ml volume. Distilled in 2008 and matured thirteen years in oak casks, it balances bold medicinal Islay peat smoke with ripe dark dried fruit and velvety polished oak sweetness. The aroma carries smoldering seaweed smoke, plump raisins, dark fig jam, briny coastal mineral and faint dark chocolate undertones. The palate offers concentrated layered fruit-smoke core, warm saline spice and silky medium-full viscous texture. It delivers a long opulent finish with lingering peat depth, jammy dried berry sweetness and smooth maritime oak warmth. Best savoured neat, a tiny splash of water softens its sturdy strength and unlocks intricate interplay of smoke, fruit and briny coastal notes.
