Black Adder Raw Cask Caol Ila 9 Year Old 2013 is a robust cask-strength peated Islay single malt independently bottled by Blackadder at 58.2% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle, matured in plain ex-bourbon casks to fuse thick coastal peat with bright fresh citrus fruit. Its aroma bursts with potent smouldering sea peat, crisp citrus zest, light vanilla custard, subtle seaweed and mild fresh herb without harsh alcoholic heat despite the elevated strength. The palate delivers vivid citrus brightness upfront, wrapped in dense saline smoke and firm light oak tannins. It finishes long, briny and smoky with lingering citrus notes, best savoured with a tiny splash of water to soften its powerful undiluted cask strength character.
