Black Adder Raw Cask Peatreek Islay Blended Malt 10 Years Old is a powerful cask-strength Islay blended malt independently bottled by Blackadder under its iconic Raw Cask range, released at an intense 58.6% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Composed of peated malt spirits sourced from multiple Islay distilleries and matured for a decade, it delivers unfiltered, full-throttle coastal peat character without dilution or chill-filtration. The nose bursts with smouldering medicinal peat, tarry seaweed, briny coastal brine, charred seaweed, dark liquorice and faint ripe blackberry fruit undertones. On the palate, thick oily peat smoke dominates, intertwined with saline mineral brine, dark berry jam sweetness and fierce elevated alcohol warmth, amplified by the undiluted raw cask strength. Its extraordinarily lengthy finish lingers on persistent ash smoke, saline maritime notes, dark fruit and leathery charred oak spice; this uncompromising peated blended malt is best savoured neat by peat enthusiasts, with only tiny drops of mineral water to gently open its concentrated smoky flavours if desired.
