Old Particular Big Peets Finest 10 Years 2013 is an intense Islay peated single malt independently bottled by Douglas Laing under its Old Particular series, hitting a powerful cask strength of 64.5% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Distilled in 2013 and matured for a full decade, it lives up to the “Big Peets” name with massive concentrated peat smoke at its core. Its aroma bursts with smouldering bonfire smoke, iodine, seaweed brine, tar, dark dried berries and subtle charred oak. The palate delivers thick phenolic peat ash upfront, layered with ripe black fruit, saline maritime minerality and robust wood spice, leading to an extremely long, warm smoky finish. This high-proof limited indie release caters to hardcore peat lovers; it is best enjoyed neat or with only a tiny splash of spring water to temper the intense alcohol and unlock hidden dark fruit sweetness.
