Wilson & Morgan Ardmore 2011/2023 is a peated Highland single malt independently bottled by Wilson & Morgan, matured twelve years at balanced 48% ABV in a standard 700ml bottle. Oak maturation balances soft medicinal peat smoke with bright orchard fruit, creamy toffee honey, pale polished oak and faint coastal herbal mineral undertones unique to Ardmore’s smoky distillate. The nose unfolds with gentle smoldering peat, fresh green apple compote, light vanilla custard and mild sweet barrel wood warmth. The palate balances subtle smoke intensity with silky fruity malt depth, faint citrus zest and fully softened rounded tannins. Its medium warming finish holds lingering light ash smoke and delicate fruited wood herbal hints. Best savoured neat or with a tiny splash of spring water to unlock well-rounded peated Highland malt complexity without harsh alcoholic sharpness.
