Tasting Notes
The following summarizes Royal Salute's official notes, rather than an in-house tasting.
- Nose: Cooked pear and berries, with orange spice, fig and almond-paste nuances.
- Palate: Blueberry and plum give way to toasted hazelnut, citrus peel and creamy toffee, accented by ginger and cardamom.
- Finish: Sweetness and spice settle into a gently drying close.
The Portuguese Chapter of the Kingdom Collection
Royal Salute identifies this as the third and final Kingdom Collection release. Inspired by Portugal, the blend is finished in Colheita Port casks sourced from a winery in the Douro Valley. Master Blender Sandy Hyslop balances the casks' fruit and nut influences with a berry-and-spice character.
